It depends on the kitten’s personality. I have a chow-mix dog named Dutchess because she always acts so haughty and a shepherd mix named Baby because she is such a sweetie pie. I did name my Black lab Midnight but it fits more than just her color. She just IS a Midnight. I would wait to get the kitty before asking that question.

My only steadfast rule for cat names is that the name contain a sibilant (SSSS) sound. Seems to get ther attention. Our cats are named Sgt. Pepper (blk & wht), and Dashi (Nibelung)…
