The case of the wild kitten.?
I have an 8 week old kitten. We love her to death, she is funny, crazy, loving and energetic. However, she is too playful and does not know when to stop. I have had many kittens in my lifetime and none we as wild as she is. I’m not complaining because it’s cute and funny. However, Im hoping this does slow down.
Anyone else have a wild kitty? How do you calm the kitten down?

wild kitties are a normal thing. dont worry about it to much. most of it calms down in age. but if this one looks like she’s not going to calm much…do something about it.
1. whenever she does bite you or scratch you. not a playful type mind you, but more aggressive. playing at first is fine. but after she crosses that line, blow into her nose. sounds mean. but all it does it annoy them.
2. repeat "no!" in a really firm voice. aww but the cute wittle baby kitty!! …you cant b nice after awhile…u dont want a full grown kitty eating ur hand.
3. toys are fine. but dont overplay with them. let them find amusement in household items, a peice of old cloth, scrap shirt. and if playing gets out of hand, and 1 & 2 dont work. time out time!!
thats all i got…hope it helps!!

WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU MEAN BY "WILD"…BE MORE SPECIFIC ON WHAT YOUR KITTY DOES.
tell her gentle when she plays too rough, and instead of getting her to play when you first see her try and get her calm and give her cuddles instead
Is she biting and scratching when she plays? If that’s the type of wild she is (destructive!), stop all play whenever she gets rough. She’ll figure out that if she wants to play, it has to be gentle, or at least not shredding you guys to ribbons.
Some kittens and puppies also get overstimulated after some playing. If she starts to get that crazed look in her eye, just stop playing. They can’t really control themselves when they get that over the top, and with my cat it actually looked like she wasn’t having fun but just couldn’t figure out how to calm down if the toy or people were still around.
My cat did grow out of her psycho kittenhood, and she was NUTS. My arms were constantly red from her biting. Now she very rarely bites, and we know to leave her alone when she comes out of the shadows at night with her eyes totally dilated. She calms down after awhile and is fit for human company again.
put her into a room on her own and darken it.. to slow her down..
Well a lot of kittens at the age of 8 weeks old are very wild because they are just learning to get around more and very curious. I had a litter of 4 8 week old kittens and they were out of their minds. We still have one and he is very calm and laid back now and has been since about a year old. Give them their first year to be "wild" and then they should be calming down after they are fixed.
lol…I did. His name was Chewy. He was so rambunctious. He did calm down a bit after I got him fixed. Then I started to train him to sit and lay down like my other cat and then he really started to calm down as he had something to take up all the energy. And yes, although it takes a lot of patience, you can teach your cat tricks. I started training mine when he was 8 months old. Chewy has gone to kitty heaven because of diabetes, but my other cat, Sputnik is alive and well and knows how to sit, sit up and lay down. You can also get a whole bunch of kitty toys and when you open the package they come in…do it with your kitten in the room and make the package burst open and all the toys go flying around the kitten, it will think it just went to heaven….another thing you can do is sprinkle a bit of catnip in it’s dry food, a teaspoon per 10oz of dry food, that also help when they eat it….best wishes to you and your kitten =)
she is still young…all kittens will act like this…..what u can do is get her a play toy for now…cause im guessing after a while u get tired of her playing with u
