How much hair do they clip before neutering a male kitten?
I know the girls get their whole tummy clipped but what about the boys? He has such a pretty silky coat, I’m wondering how goofy he’s going to look afterwards? Not that it matters, it’s being done whether he looks funny or not, I’m just curious having only had females before.
Depends on the vet’s skill and the med tech’s skill. The ones that I work with are incredible. Spay scars are the length of a dime. Neuter is sometimes hard to see, unless you really look.
That is the exception, not the rule. Shouldn’t look too bad on a shorthair. Shouldn’t look too bad on a longhair.
Very little. They only shave their genital area, and most cats/kittens are unnoticeable before or after a neutering.
they just shave the ball area where they cut it open and they stitch it up and they dissolve after it is healed
