funny cat poo… or something…?

My cat just turned 2. He has a mixed diet consisting of dry food and wet food, but I find he just really loves his dry food and picks at his wet food except the tuna flavor which he devours in like, 10 minutes. I’m not really nervous about him not eating a lot of his wet food since he certainly makes up for that in how much dry food he eats and he drinks enough water. About a week ago, I left out some Carnation milk on the counter. I was cooking with it, put some in my mashed potatoes, and then I went to take a shower since I forgot it was out. I came back to find my cat licking at the top of it… but I don’t think anything’s wrong with that? He’s been acting normal ever since. This morning though, I found a small piece of rock hard.. "something" that my cat made. It was dark green and smelt a lot like his dry food. I don’t think it was something he threw up since I didn’t see a puddle of saliva or anything surrounding it and if it was poo, then I don’t get why he wouldn’t have done it in his litter box. He did it in the hall… I think it might be something he coughed up but it’s so hard… if it’s poo, then what does it mean?

If it was poo then he is just constipated. Don’t worry that he doesn’t eat wet food. My cat doesn’t either and she is 7 and healthy. Licking the carnation milk is certainly not healthy as most cats cannot digest milk products correctly but it won’t hurt just once. It may however be what made him constipated. It doesn’t sound like anything to worry about though.
