Here are some useful tips in choosing a name for your cat.
- Choose a name that’s both easy to say and one that you are happy calling out.
- Please remember that the name you choose will used many times a day to call your cat.
- Pick a name that will grow with the pet. For example "Kitten" may be less appropriate for a full grown cat.
- Wait a few days to study your pets behavior. The personality and appearance of the cat may assist here.
- Pick a name that the pet can easily recognize. Animals respond better to one or two syllable names, (especially names ending in a long E sound, like “Gracy“).
- If choosing a long name keep in mind the shortened version. A long name will inevitably be shortened, but it may ruin the effect that you were originally looking for.
- The pet’s breed heritage can provide some useful inspiration. For example: Siamese, Balinese, Korat, and Burmese are Oriental breeds; Don Sphynx and Peterbald are Russian; Abyssinian is Egyptian; Chartreux is French; Bombay is British; Devon Rex is English.

I always wanted another cat to name Salem. I loved that name for a cat but never got another one so I say Salem is a perfect name for a cat.

I think that you shouldn’t ask stangers on yahoo answers. It’s better to ask close friends and family.

my cats are gismo,charlie,suki,nick,jidie,sooty,licky,baby and toots(toots is a black and white).the others are tortoise,calico,ginger and white,tabby and all black

but usually when i see these type of question i answer by saying after you had the cat a few days,and they type of character they turn out to be, you will call them some sort of name that will stick,what ever you choose good luck…
their is a saying though that a dog will come when called,but a cat will take a message and get back to you..
and if you want the best seat in the house, move the cat.

This isn’t an old people’s name necessarily, but it’s cute!

My friends just got a black and white kitten too. He’s black and has a white stripe down his face and has a white belly. They named him Pepe’, like the cartoon character Pepe’ Le Pew who is the french skunk from Looney Tunes.
